Manufacturers, the likes of Panasonic and others, who have faithfully stood by the Neo-technology of 3D are starting to see the kind of content come to the 3D TV screen that will be the holy grail of this burgeoning industry. Cartoon animations and informational documentaries abound in the 3D TV DVD format and that was enough to show off the possibilities of 3D TV.
But the real consumer test will come as standard movie fare begins to be offered to the Blu-ray buying public. The time is now. 2011 will see a string of made for 3D movies. Some will be blockbusters with or without 3D enhancement. Some might flop at the box office but will regain life on the DVD market as the 3D TV and 3D Blu-ray owners clamor for content and make hits out of, not so good movies just for the sake of their 3D TV content.
And for now that’s fine. It will prompt the producers of the kinds of films that are benefited by the addition of 3D technology into creating more content that fits this new genre. Unfortunately there will be some movies made just to take advantage of the 3D technology and totally disregard some of the movie making standards that have been established, but then there will be movies that are just turkeys with or without the extra physical depth that 3D provides.
